Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of Deshifr, a service that turns your audio and video recordings into text with timecodes using automated speech recognition. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to use Deshifr.
• Give us a valid email address and keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity in your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in your account settings.

2. Your content

• You keep all rights to the files you upload and the transcripts we produce. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the service to you.
• You confirm you have the right to upload each recording, including the consent of the people recorded where the law requires it.
• Don't upload anything illegal, or content that infringes someone else's rights.

3. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, get around plan limits, access other people's data, or resell the service without our permission. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Plans and limits

• Free: 30 minutes per month, free.
• Pro: 400 minutes per month, $2.99 per month.
• Pro Plus: 1,100 minutes per month, $6.99 per month.
• Turbo: 1,600 minutes per month, $9.99 per month.
• Minutes reset at the start of each calendar month; unused minutes don't carry over.
• When a plan's minutes run out, new files can't be uploaded until the next month or until you move to a plan with more minutes. You are never charged more than your plan's monthly price.
• Each file can be up to 2 GB and 4 hours long. Usage is counted per started second, with a 15-second minimum per file.

5. Payments

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

• Paid plans are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time on the Billing page; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Prices are shown in US dollars; Paddle adds any applicable taxes at checkout.
• If we change a price, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next billing period.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

6. Transcription accuracy

Transcripts are produced automatically and may contain mistakes, especially with noisy audio, overlapping speakers or uncommon names. Please check important quotes against the recording before you publish them.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Deshifr running and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is", without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. We may add, change or remove features over time.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email. Continuing to use Deshifr after a change means you accept the updated terms.
